DC FANDOME To Announce 2022 Release Of Ayer Cut On HBOMax?!

The #ReleaseTheAyerCut continues to trend on Twitter as DC fans have hope that one day the director’s cut of the 2016 film, ‘Suicide Squad’, will come to light. While it looked like a pipe dream for a few months now, it is looking likely that there will actually be an “Ayer Cut” coming out in 2022, directly for streaming on the OTT platform, HBOMax. While there is no real confirmation yet, latest reports suggest that the director’s cut will get announced during the DC FANDOME event, which will happen this month. Check out the link to the 24-hour event, at the end of this article.

Even if the announcement doesn’t happen, the Ayer Cut version has been a long time coming – especially since Warner Bros. Pictures merger with Discovery changed the previous executives in charge of the production company. There are already many big changes that are currently happening behind the scenes of the major media conglomerate, and we can’t wait to find out more during the DC FANDOME event.

Last year, this event talked about the various DC content that will make its way to the consumers in the coming year – be it in the form of films, TV shows, comics and/or video games. The same thing is expected to happen this year as well, with “DC FanDome 2021 – Announcement Video”, which was released on YouTube last month, pretty much confirming it. Check it out below:

So it makes sense that the Ayer Cut will get announced there. David Ayer was unfortunate, not being able to release his directorial vision to the rest of the DC fans, which was what got a lot of the actors on board (the project) in the first place. If this cut does get the green light from Warner Bros. Discovery, it will go a long way in mending the relationship between the media company and the fans of its properties.

The DC FANDOME event will begin at 10:30 PM on October 16th 2021. As mentioned earlier, the link below will take you to the portal to view the event.
