DC’s “Madame Xanadu” Is Getting Her Very Own Series At HBO Max!

Looks like DC Comics is getting another brand new series. HBO Max for a while has been working on various DC series to be released especially on the streaming platform. Many of these series are especially dedicated to singular superheroes. While few are being planned to bring a bunch of these DC Comics superheroes together. Now, news has come up that HBO Max might give life to a very important character from DC Comics and someone who is part of Justice League Dark.

If you have been following the news, then we believe you are right. A DC Comics series based on Madame Xanadu reportedly is in development at HBO Max. The project, titled “Madame X”, will be helmed by filmmaker Angela Robinson, who will also produce along with J.J. Abrams and Ben Stephenson. The drama series is supposed to be a one-hour affair and will also be written by Angela Robinson. The series will be co-produced by Rachel Rusch Rich. Also, if the project gets its complete approval from HBO it will be created by both Bad Robots and Warner Bros. Television.

As for the character, Madame Xanadu, who also goes by the name of Nimue Inwundu is a mystical character in DC Comics. She dates back to the times of King Arthur and is in reality, an immortal sorceress. Legend has it that she is someone who has been close to King Arthur and also is linked to wizard Merlin. She is a powerful magician who has lived for centuries and can foresee the future; she also is known to keep dark forces locked up in glass jars.

She is said to be one of the founding members of Justice League Dark. Justice League Dark is nothing but the association of all the superheroes who are mystical and are the carrier of magic. While the Justice League Dark series is already on its way from “Bad Robots”, a series of Constantine and a feature film for Zatanna is also on the way. Both of these characters were the founding members of Justice League Dark along with Madame Xanadu. It will be interesting to see how the series of Madame Xanadu unfolds as she is someone who has undergone several reincarnations throughout those centuries.

As for the creators involved, filmmaker Angela Robinson is someone who knows the superhero territory well as she earlier wrote and directed “Professor Marston and the Wonder Women” and “The Web” for DC. As for Abrams, he is working on various DC projects too like the “Justice League Dark”, a new Superman film, featuring a black Superman, and also the series of “Constantine”.

It seems like Warner Bros. is packed with DC Projects and given what Marvel has been preparing, we think it will be a good match when projects from both of them start releasing. As for now, there are no release dates associated with Madame Xanadu, as well as Justice League Dark, Constantine, or Zatanna.
