DC Super-Pets Novel Discloses Upcoming Animated Movie’s Plot

The recent novelization of DC Super-Pets reveals some interesting details about the upcoming animated project starring Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart. Projects like Black Adam, Shazam! Fury of the Gods, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, and The Flash are set to become the next additions to current the DCEU timeline. As a result, fans are focused more on these big-budget monsters instead of DC League of Super-Pets. Also, the animated film’s trailers rely heavily on their comic moments rather than giving away the whole storyline. And this brings us to our main topic. A new book based on DC Super-Pets is now available for children. And it reportedly contains the plot of the forthcoming project.

Prominent movie franchises often novelize their future projects to generate more hype among the kids and improve the sales of their merchandise. Do you know that Marvel also dispatched a kid novel series based on Iron Man before the theatrical release of Iron Man 3? Yes, it happened. Anyway, these children’s books treasure basic plotlines of the upcoming big-budget movies. Although, we cannot ignore the chances of witnessing some deviations in the films’ plots from the children’s book series.

According to the novel’s storyline, Superman begins to believe that his pet dog, Krypto, badly needs a friend and takes him to a pet shop. Both meet some interesting pets there that will become important supporting characters in the animated film. But things go sideways after all those animals get exposed to orange Kryptonite. Due to this crazy event, they all receive different superpowers and later form the Super-Pets group together.

Believe it or not, a pink guinea pig, Lulu, acquires mind control powers in that accident. And its desire of taking control of the entire planet automatically makes it the ‘bad guy’. Not everyone is Professor X who uses telepathic powers to save the world, folks.

Apart from Johnson and Hart, the voice cast of DC League of Super-Pets has Vanessa Bayer, Natasha Lyonne, Diego Luna, John Krasinski, Keanu Reeves, Marc Maron, and many more talented performers. It will hit the theatres on July 29th.
