DCU’s Lanterns Series Boards Damon Lindelof & Chris Mundy As Writers

DCU’s Lanterns series for Max has found its writers, Damon Lindelof and Chris Mundy. Several online reports previously hailed them as possible contenders for the show’s writers and producers. We don’t know if the duo is actually producing the series. This news came from their newly updated WGA profiles.

Damon Lindelof is best known for serving as writer and showrunner on several hit shows, such as Lost, The Leftovers, Watchmen, and Mrs. Davies. Plus, he has co-written movies like Cowboys & Aliens (2011), Prometheus (2012), Star Trek Into Darkness (2013), World War Z (2015), and Tomorrowland (2015).

Chris Mundy has served as one of the showrunners on Netflix’s Ozark series. He has also executively produced Criminal Minds.

Apart from Mundy and Lindelof, Justin Britt-Gibson is in talks to join Lanterns’ writing team as well. He is known for writing shows like Counterpart and Into The Badlands.

James Gunn announced the ‘Lanterns’ series for DCU in January this year. It will primarily revolve around globally prominent Green Lanterns, Hal Jordan and John Stewart. According to Gunn and Peter Safran, the project will be an Earth-based detective story like HBO’s True Detective series. The investigation conducted by Jordan and Stewart in the show will share a strong connection with the DCU’s main continuity. No release date has been announced yet. Stay tuned for more updates.
