DCU’s ‘The Flash’ Release Date Changed, To Come One Week Early!

With DCEU’s latest releases being disappointing ventures, all eyes are on the four announced biggies from the newly branded DC Studios. Among these, a very anticipated film is ‘The Flash’. Now, with the studio announcing a new release date, the speedster is set to come to the screens faster than anticipated!

The movie earlier slated for a June 23, 2023 release will now be released a week early, presumably to give some gap between the film and Disney’s upcoming ‘Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny’, set to release on June 30th. With the fifth film in the Indiana Jones adventure series having a huge fanbase of all ages, it is a savvy decision to give a decent gap between the two films, especially considering all the controversies around the DCU movie and its star. ‘The Flash’ would now release on June 16th, giving it an ample breathing space of around two weeks.

‘The Flash’ will be directed by ‘It’ films’ director Andy Muschietti and will be the first solo feature film for the very popular DC character. The movie will star Ezra Miller as Barry Allen / The Flash alongside an ensemble cast of Ron Livingston, Michael Keaton, Kiersey Clemons, Michael Shannon, Antje Traue, Sasha Calle, and Ben Affleck. With two Batmans appearing and reportedly supergirl getting her film debut, the superhero movie has a lot of buzz around it.

The official premise of the movie is “The Flash traveling back in time to prevent his mother’s murder, which will bring unintended consequences to his timeline”. A movie whose events can affect the past, present, and future of all the movies in the timeline, will bring about important changes in the DCU.
