Aamir Khan’s son Junaid Khan is all set to release his first film now. The movie is titled ‘Maharaj’ and it will be a direct to OTT release. The release date for Maharaj is out now. It will be premiering on Netflix on the 14th of June this year.
‘Maharaj’ is directed by Sidharth P. Malhotra. Malhotra is known for previously directing films like ‘Hichki’. Apart from Junaid Khan, Maharaj also stars the amazing Jaideep Ahlawat who will be in a major role. There will be actors like Sharvari Singh and Shalini Pandey as well.
Maharaj will be a period drama set in the 1800s. As per the official handle of YRF, the movie will be a David and Goliath story which will feature a regular journalist who goes against a very powerful and rich man, with all the risks of being eliminated. It is said that the movie will closely follow the Maharaja Libel case. This will be YRF’s third direct to OTT venture. The earlier to releases: ‘The Railway Men’ and ‘The Romantics’ were huge hits.
After this, Junaid will be seen in the Hindi remake of the 2022 Tamil film ‘Love Today’ opposite Khushi Kapoor. The shooting for the movie has already started, and it is being helmed by Advait Chandan, who has previously directed ‘Secret Superstar’ and ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’.
Junaid has signed several other films, one of them is the untitled project with Sai Pallavi, and another is a Mansoor Ali Khan film.
