Zack Snyder’s Justice League is one of the most anticipated films of the year, especially after the theatrical cut of Justice League proved to be so disappointing. It left most of the fans fuming so without wasting a lot of time let us try to decode their latest teaser meticulously.
The whole teaser of Zack Snyder‘s Justice League is shot in black and white with ‘Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen’ playing in the background which gives it a dark and melancholic vibe. Most die-hard Zack Snyder fans may also remember that this same music was used in one of the important scenes of ‘Watchmen’. We’re starting to think its Zack Snyder’s favourite song.
As Zack Snyder had promised us, we get to see Darkseid in the trailer, and he is slated to play a pivotal part in Zack Snyder’s Justice League. In contrast, he never came on screen in the theatrical version and was only restricted to a mention by Steppenwolf.
The future of the DCEU looks bleak, and even the headquarters of the Justice League is destroyed. It may have skipped even the keenest of observers, but a scorched Joker card is seen floating in the air when they show us the city which is burned to the ground. Go back to the teaser and watch it frame by frame if you haven’t noticed it already. (Special points for those who got it in the first try)
We get to see more of Vic Stone here as he is shown dreaming about when he used to be a football star which cuts back to the scene where he watches a few kids play football on the streets and can’t help but reminisce about the good old times.
Another character who seems to have more of an important role in the Snyder cut is Iris West who is saved by Barry from a car accident. Those who have seen The Flash Series will definitely know about her relationship with Barry. We are certainly expecting more of her in the Snyder cut. We also see Aquaman refusing to take his ceremonial armour, and this prompts us to think that maybe he goes on a soul-searching journey through the ride.
We have the appearance of another God like character which looks nothing like Steppenwolf or Darkseid. This creature is DeSaad (serves as chief torturer for Darkseid) if the comics are anything to go by. DeSaad is known to be one of the most sadistic and evil villains of the DC Universe.
Another feature of this teaser is that we get to see Superman in his Black suit as promised by Zack Snyder again. The haunting dream sequence in Batman vs Superman where batman is caught is very similar to the city which is shown in shambles in the teaser, and though it might not mean a great deal, it could further help connect the dots of the franchise.
With the introduction of new characters and what looks like a quintessential dark-themed DC teaser, Zack Snyder’s Justice League has already created a lot of hype. The ending scene in the teaser where the whole crew is standing together with Aquaman finally adorning his Atlantean armour can give you chills if you are a DC fan.
