Earlier this year, it was reported that popular Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone had signed Hollywood agency ICM ostensibly to expand her Hollywood film portfolio. And earlier today, news broke that the ‘Om Shanti Om’ actress is set to star in an upcoming cross-cultural romantic comedy movie being developed by STXfilms and Temple Hill.
The film is said to be produced by Deepika Padukone through her production company Ka Productions banner. The actress had previously starred in another Hollywood project ‘xXx: Return of Xander Cage’ alongside action star Vin Diesel which was her English language feature film debut.
Regarding the recently announced international project, the actress had stated that: “Ka Productions was founded with the aim to develop and produce purposeful content with global appeal. I’m thrilled to be partnering with STXfilms and Temple Hill Productions, who share Ka’s ambition and creative vision and look forward to bringing impactful and dynamic cross-cultural stories to the world.”
Besides this, Deepika Padukone’s next production film project includes Kabir Khan’s directorial ‘83’ in which she also co-stars as the reel-life wife of her real-life actor-husband Ranveer Singh, who is essaying the role of the Indian Cricket World-Cup winning captain Kapil Dev.
While nowadays, Deepika Padukone is busy filming for the eagerly anticipated big-ticket Shahrukh Khan starrer spy actioner ‘Pathan’. Her other acting projects include Shakun Batra’s untiled film co-starring Ananya Pandey and Siddhant Chaturvedi. She also has Siddharth Anand’s next film ‘Fighter’ with Hrithik Roshan.
Deepika Padukone will also be seen alongside Amitabh Bachchan in the Indian adaptation of Robert De Niro – Anna Hathaway starrer ‘The Intern’, which is being backed by her own production company. And into the bargain, she is reported to be also a part of Nag Ashwin’s directorial science fiction film co-starring Amitabh Bachchan, Prabhas, and Nag Ashwin himself.
