Dev is all set to release his Byomkesh film ‘Byomkesh O Durgo Rahasya‘ but his production house has announced one more movie starring the actor.
But Dev will not be playing the lead role in the movie, it is Paran Bandyopadhyay, the ‘Tonic’ co-star who will be the lead. Paran Bandyopadhyay and Dev’s chemistry in ‘Tonic’ was appreciated and admired by fans and the film was quite successful too. Now The pair returns again and it will be interesting to watch what new dimension they bring to that. Dev, a.k.a Deepak Adhikary is a superstar and will have no problem in pulling off any solo film. But he is currently focusing on films with older counterparts. Like in Projapoti and Tonic, he is clinging to a particular genre of films, that concentrates on the relationship of the old and the young.
Actress Soumitrisha Kundu is going to make her big screen debut with this film. She will be seen against Dev in ‘Prodhan’. Soumitrisha has previously worked in TV serials like ‘Mithai’. It is nothing new that a TV actress is making her big screen debut with Dev. Recently, in the film ‘Projapoti’, he gave the opportunity to another actress Shweta Bhattacharya.
‘Prodhan’ will be a family drama. There will be bits and pieces of comedy and social commentary as well. There is no update about the story as for now. Filmmaker Abhijit Sen will be directing the movie. The shooting will start around August and it will be released by the winter vacation this year. Fans are excited for yet another Dev film, and that too a family drama.
