Dev or Deepak Adhikari’s latest movie as the lead is going to be available on OTT soon. ‘Pradhan’ will be available to watch on Hoichoi from the 9th of August. The movie was the second highest grossing movie of West Bengal in 2023 and it was directed by Avijit Sen. It was Sen’s third movie with Dev after the two successful films ‘Tonic’ and ‘Projapoti’.
‘Pradhan’ tells the story of a young police officer who is posted to Dharmapur and sees highly corrupt leaders ruling all over the place and the common man is under utmost frustration. While he tries to improve the situation, politicians try to stop him and he gets some unexpected help as well. The movie does not go the way of loud cop dramas with unrealistic action and larger than life portrayal of the hero. The movie is grounded in reality and that is what makes it more watchable. Apart from Dev, the movie also stars wonderful actors like Paran Bandyopadhyay and Anirban Chakroborty in major roles. There is Soham Chakroborty making a notable return in the movie and there are Mamata Shankar and Sabitri Chatterjee as well.
The music was given by various artists like Shantanu Moitra, Anupam Roy and Rathijit Bhattacharjee. The cinematography was handled by Gopi Bhagat.
