Let’s talk about a nonsensical theory floating around the web. The theory talks about how actors go through a really tough time after delivering a mammoth blockbuster with SS Rajamouli. According to this theory, actors who work with Rajamouli have to bear a streak of bad, unsuccessful films.
Take the case of Prabhas. It really took him years after Baahubali: The Conclusion to come up with a really successful film and it is none other than Salaar and the recently released Kalki 2898 AD.
Take another case and it is of Ram Charan. He came immediately after RRR in Acharya. Despite having him and his father together, the movie was a terrible flop. He also cameoed in Salman Khan’s Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan and let’s not talk about how cruel a slap it received from the audiences and the critics.
And now it is the case of Jr NTR. The trailer of Devara is being called out brutally for its poor VFX, same old story and sheer blockage of creativity in script and direction. It will be interesting to see how the people perceive this film because the makers definitely have to do a lot of damage control after this response.
But there is nothing like the post-Rajamouli curse as it is just the poor choice of films that causes their filmography to go through a bad phase. Rajamouli only and only helps people get a great launch pad. Maybe the actors get careless with their script choice and ignites their Saadhe Saati.
