Dexter Villain Joins Cast of Martin Scorsese’s ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’

Eminent actor John Lithgow, who had played the role of the dreaded Trinity Killer in Dexter Season 4, has joined the star-studded cast of Martin Scorsese’s upcoming western crime drama ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’.

The ensemble cast members of the much-anticipated film include Leonardo Di Caprio, Robert De Niro, Jesse Plemons, Brendan Fraser, and Lily Gladstone, amongst others. Martin Scorsese had roped in his long-time collaborators Leonardo Di Caprio and Robert De Niro. It’s his sixth film with the former while the tenth project with the latter.

However, ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’ marks virtuoso filmmaker Martin Scorsese’s first-time collaboration with veteran performer John Lithgow. He is said to be playing the role of a prosecutor in the film. The Harvard alumnus is the winner of two Golden Globe Awards, six Primetime Emmy Awards besides being nominated for the Oscars, twice.

With an actor of Lithgow’s caliber apparently being cast in a supporting role is a clear message from Apple in its intention to make content-oriented original projects featuring first-rate performers. Lithgow was last seen in the period television series ‘Perry Mason’ for which he has been nominated for a Primetime Emmy – his thirteenth. He will also be seen reprising his role of Arthur Mitchell aka Trinity Killer in the revival season of Michael C. Hall starrer acclaimed television show ‘Dexter’ which will premiere in November this year.

‘Killers of the Flower Moon’ is based on David Grann’s non-fiction book of the same name and revolves around the mysterious serial killings of the members of the Osage tribe in the 1920s United States. Besides directing and co-producing the film for Apple Studios, Scorsese has also written the screenplay along with Tim Roth.
