After ‘Kantara’ and ‘K.G.F’ Homable Films are going to present ‘Uttarakaanda’. It will be presented by Hombale’s extension KRG Studios. It will star famous Kannada actors Dhananjay and Ramya in the lead roles. The rest of the cast is not yet finalized. But some big Kannada stars like Shivarajkumar are rumored to be in important roles.
The announcement of the film was made a lot earlier and on the actor’s birthday a poster of the film was released. The film will be directed by Rohith Padaki. Rohith has previously directed films like Ratnam Prapancha, Ashtralle Just Missoo, Dayavittu Gamanisi, Kannad Gothilla. It will be produced by Karthik Gowda and Yogi G. Raj. Charan Raj will give the music to the film and J. Swamy will be handling the cinematography.
‘Uttarakaanda’ will be a contemporary gangster thriller that will explore the local people of North Karnataka.
Dhananjay has worked with the director previously for the film ‘Ratnan Prapancha’ and now they will come together again after not so long. And it will be the third collaboration with the producer duo after ‘Hoysala’ and ‘Ratnan Prapancha’. The director had earlier said that Uttarakaanda will be a proper mass entertainer unlike his previous two films.
Rohith Padaki has other two upcoming films ‘Once Upon A Time In Jamaligudda’ and ‘Monsoon Raaga’ which are in different stages of production. Kannada film industry is producing masterpieces and it has been a really successful year for the industry. The original and innovative contents are elevating Indian cinema to great heights. Hopefully ‘Uttarakaanda’ will be an addition to this oeuvre of wonderful regional stories.
