Multi-talented superstar actor Dhanush was recently snapped while riding a boat in California apparently while shooting for the Russo Brothers’ highly anticipated upcoming action thriller film ‘The Gray Man’.
A short video of the actor rowing the boat all by himself, while his family enjoying the view, is rapidly trending on Twitter. Reportedly, the filming of ‘The Gray Man’ is underway at Burbank, California.
A Netflix original film, ‘The Gray Man’ features an ensemble cast including acclaimed actor Ryan Gosling (La La Land, Drive) and Chris Evans (a frequent collaborator of the Russo Brothers who had cast him as Captain America in the celebrated superhero film franchise) in the lead roles, besides also featuring Indian actor Dhanush. Incidentally, the film is based on the 2009 novel of the same name written by Mark Greaney.
The film ostensibly revolves around an old-timer CIA operative who is double-crossed by his own organization, leaving him with no other option than to become a fugitive. Consequently, his former associate (played by Chris Evans) is sent in pursuit of him. The film is purportedly being made on a budget of $200 million.
Regarding the film’s release, Joe Russo had earlier stated “The intention is for it to be competitive with any theatrical release, and the ability to do so with Gosling and Evans is a dream come true for us. The idea is to create a franchise and build up a whole universe, with Ryan at the centre of it. We have all committed to the first movie, and that’s got to be great to get us to the second movie. These are master assassins, and Gosling’s character gets burned by the CIA, while Evans’ character has to hunt him down. We have a great working relationship with Netflix, and we go back almost 20 years with Scott Stuber. We formed the firm AGBO to be an agnostic storytelling company, where we figure out the best platform.”
On the heels of delivering an intense performance in the recently released film ‘Karnan’, ‘The Gray Man’ is one of Dhanush’s upcoming films besides Aanand L. Rai’s directorial ‘Atrangi Re’ and Karthik Subbaraj’s ‘Jagame Thandhiram’.
