The promotions for ‘Raayan’ are going on with full pressure and fans have high hopes for the movie. But the lead actor and director of the movie has landed himself in a new controversy after a speech in one of the promotional events.
During the event, Dhanush called himself an outsider and told the audiences (with some hopes of motivating them) that he had to work pretty hard to finally have a house in the Poes Garden. Audiences and netizens seem to be quite offended with this statement as Dhanush was never actually an ‘outsider’.
He said, “We went to Poes Garden to see Thalaivar’s house. Then we saw a crowd at another person’s house. We were told that it was Jayalalithaa ma’s house. I got down from the bike and saw Thalaivar’s house on one side and Jayalalithaa Amma’s house on the other. The Poes Garden house today is a gift to the 16-year-old Venkatesh Prabhu (birth name of Dhanush).
Netizens are enraged that Dhanush has to gain the empathy of the crowd by telling some cock-and-bull story of him being an outsider. One X user pointed out that his father was already a filmmaker, who financed Dhanush’s first film when he was only 18. His brother was a director too. At 20, he was married to Rajinikanth’s daughter. There was no dearth of power and influence of Dhanush in the film business.
However, this might spark a huge controversy but it is highly unlikely that this would hamper the business of the movie. ‘Raayan’ continues to be a highly anticipated movie and it will probably break a few records too.
