So the news about Jagame Thandhiram is finally out. The Dhanush starrer will release on Netflix in 17 languages! Yes, you heard that right! There had been a lot of speculation regarding the release of Dhanush’s Jagame Thandhiram on Netflix – more specifically about the various languages that the much-awaited film will release in.
Netflix had long ago launched trailers for Jagame Thandhiram in Kannada, Malayalam and Telugu, besides the original Tamil one. But there was a whole lot of speculation that had spread like wildfire on social media – that Jagame Thandhiram will not release in Hindi on Netflix. Later, Netflix released a Hindi trailer for Jagame Thandhiram, putting an end to that speculation.
So which are the languages that the Karthik Subbaraj film will finally premiere in on Netflix? Let’s find out!
From Indian languages, Jagame Thandhiram is slated to premiere in 5 languages – Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi. The remaining 12 languages that Jagame Thandhiram will release in are all international – a first for an Indian film on Netflix. These are English, French, German, Polish, Italian, Portuguese, Brazilian, Spanish (Castilian), Spanish (Neutral), Thai, Indonesian and Vietnamese.
Other than the languages it will stream in, Jagame Thandhiram will also achieve the critical milestone of being made available for streaming in all the 190 countries that Netflix operates in. It is a major win for the film.
Jagame Thandhiram is produced by Reliance Entertainment and S. Sashikanth and Ramachandra of YNOT Studios. It is directed by Karthik Subbaraj, and stars Dhanush, Aishwarya Lekshmi, James Cosmo, Joju George and Kalaiyarasan. It is a high octane gangster drama, with stunning action set pieces and hefty doses of humour.
Jagame Thandhiram premieres on Netflix on 18th June, at midnight on the previous night.
