Tamil star Dhanush’s legions of fans will be glad to know that the stylish and accomplished actor has just announced his next film. The film is titled ‘Captain Miller‘, and it is being produced by prestigious production house Sathya Jyothi Films. Sathya Jyothi Films today unveiled on social media, the first look teaser and title of Dhanush’s ‘Captain Miller’.
As per the almost one-minute-long teaser, ‘Captain Miller’ will see Dhanush as a swashbuckling, bike-riding, masked do-gooder. The teaser is animated – Dhanush appears in an animated avatar in the teaser, face partly covered with a scarf. Captain Miller is a period drama, set in 1930s – 1940s India. The teaser of the film clearly indicates the aforementioned fact, with its sepia-toned sequences.
The nitty-gritty of Dhanush‘s role in ‘Captain Miller’ is not quite clear from the teaser. But yes, the ‘Captain Miller’ teaser itself is very well made, and gives a fantastical touch to the upcoming film.
The most interesting part of ‘Captain Miller’, apart from Dhanush’s casting in it, is that the film is written and directed by the fast-rising young director, Arun Matheswaran. The director has made a name for himself with his recent outings – the explosive gangster drama ‘Rocky’, and the shocking revenge saga, ‘Saani Kaayidham’. Dhanush with Arun Matheswaran is an exciting pairing, and we can’t wait to watch what magic they come up with in Captain Miller.
Captain Miller is produced by Sendhil Thyagarajan and Arjun Thyagarajan of Sathya Jyothi Films. It is written and directed by Arun Matheswaran, and stars Dhanush in the lead. There’s no other information regarding the rest of the cast of Captain Miller. The music for the film is composed by G V Prakash.
Captain Miller is planned as a pan-India film, to be released simultaneously in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. Given Dhanush’s allure in the Hindi-speaking audiences, it is a very good decision on the part of the producers. Captain Miller is slated for release in the summer of 2023.
