Another Round will be playing another round, and this time, it will be with its English remake. The Danish film created a buzz with all the critical praise and nominations, even grabbing an Academy Award. Now, there are talks of giving it another go in the English market.
So, what’s the update?
As of now, it has been confirmed that Chris Rock, the iconic comedian, is in talks to direct the film. This isn’t the newest venture for him as he is getting seasoned in direction. In the 2014 project Top Five, he was associated as a writer and a director. Besides that, there are films like Head of State and I Think I Love My Wife where Chris was appointed as a director.
The English remake of the black comedy will also be produced by Appian Way Productions, a Leonardo DiCaprio company.
When the rumors surfaced, it was told that DiCaprio might star in the role, but right now, that doesn’t look like a strong possibility.
In terms of the storyline of the original film, “Another Round” follows the story of four high school teachers in Denmark who, feeling stuck in their lives, decide to experiment with maintaining a low level of alcohol in their blood throughout the day.
They believe this will enhance their creativity and overall well-being. As they continue this experiment, the film explores the impact of their choices on their personal and professional lives, delving into themes of friendship, midlife crises, and the consequences of seeking unconventional solutions to life’s challenges.
Mads Mikkelsen did deliver a magical performance, but the fans will be expecting to see who will be filling his boots as an actor. Stay tuned to Binged for further updates like these.
