Did Cheap Tickets Help Kalki?

“Kalki 2898 AD” has been one of the strongest films of the year, not just in terms of reviews but also in terms of box office success. They are still counting the bucks.

As ticket sales were slowing down for “Kalki 2898 AD,” the makers reduced ticket prices during the fifth week of release. After the film made around ₹1300 crore worldwide, the makers lowered the ticket price to just ₹100 as a token of appreciation.

This move has boosted ticket sales.

The Monday market is usually slow, but while films like “Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha” and “Ulajh” are having a tough time, “Kalki” is still competing with them in its fifth to sixth week.

Even yesterday, the film sold around 10,000 tickets on BookMyShow, which is quite commendable. In contrast, “AMKDT” sold 9,850 tickets, and “Ulajh” sold 7,400 tickets.

The “Kalki” fever is not going down anytime soon. Even before the ticket prices were reduced, it was still relevant. Now, with lower prices, a good chunk of fans are revisiting the movie, which is always a great thing for any cinema.
