Did Disney+ Hotstar’s WandaVision Just Foreshadow The Secret Invasion?!

By Binged Bureau - Feb 27, 2021 @ 09:02 am

Disney+ Hotstar’s first ever MCU mini web series, WandaVision just dropped its penultimate episode on the streaming platform quite a few hours ago, and it is the most informative one yet. We find out that Agatha was looking for the source of the powerful magic when she found Wanda, it was Westview’s current predicament is, in fact, Wanda’s doing, where Wanda’s sitcom obsession (of the differing decades) comes from and find out that she actually created Vision using her own magic. But many of you may not have noticed the very subtle foreshadowing of Secret Invasion, another MCU TV series in the works which will be a part of Phase 4.

In our previous Easter eggs articles, we had mentioned that we finally got to see a few callbacks to some of the TV series Disney’s WandaVision had taken inspiration from for their show like The Dick Van Dyke Show and Malcolm in the Middle. During one scene, Wanda told her father what she show she wanted to watch – which was the 21st episode of the second season of The Dick Van Dyke Show, titled It May Look Like a Walnut (which was wrong by the way, it was the 20th) AKA The Walnut episode to the Maximoff family (and many others).

The Walnut episode is a special episode where the main protagonist couple are watching some late night television which featured a sci-fi movie that involved humans being replaced by aliens. The next day, both the individuals start noting some of the information shown in the movie was happening in real life, which made it seem like they were undergoing an alien invasion. It all worked out in the end, in The Dick Van Dyke Show, but it sounds awfully similar to the comic book series and the now-in-development TV series – Secret Invasion.

Was this small clue supposed to tell us how the alien invasion will happen, or is it something we are looking too deeply into or are we way off in our speculation? As for now, Secret Invasion is only in the pre-production stage, with no set release date having been given to the project. But it is one of the more important productions to date, set to be as important as Captain America: Civil War was important for Phase 3, which this series will be for Phase 4.

Check out all eight episodes of WandaVision on Disney+ Hotstar. The ninth and final episode will drop on the 5th of March 2021.
