The Great Indian Kapil Show was launched just last week and sadly it opened to negative reviews. The jokes were old and it failed to spark the same laughter.
We were watching the second episode of The Great Indian Kapil Show and we were introduced to the character of Engineer Chumbak Mittal played by Sunil Grover. He cracks a joke saying that he is busy and has only 8-9 hours to talk to the guest. Why? He has added nuts in his Kurta Pockets to soak.
Now, we want you to revisit the character of Dr Mashoor Gulati from “The Kapil Sharma Show” who cracked exactly the same jokes. He would say “It’s such a busy day. Mujhe kisi zaroori kaam se sona hai.”
You got the point?
It is not even similar. The jokes are the same. No difference at all.
As of now, even in the second episode, The Great Indian Kapil Show has offered nothing new to the audience. They are the same jokes, same people, same format, just the mode of watching has changed from TV to OTT.
To sum it up, one piece of advice to the writers of The Great Indian Kapil Show. Be creative.
