Ms. Marvel is all set to make her debut on MCU. The trailer of the show dropped yesterday and will hit Disney plus on June 8, 2022. Ever since the trailer dropped the fans are discussing how marvel has changed the origin story of Kamala aka Miss. Marvel played by Iman Vellani and they are not happy about it.
In the comics, Kamala is an Inhuman and the powers reside within her. And when she’s exposed to a cloud of Terrigen Mists, her powers suddenly manifest. And then she can elongate her body according to her will. But in the trailer, Kamala gets her power through a mystery bracelet which she can create a blue aura and make shapes with it according to her will. This artifact is similar to “Quantum Bands of Quasar” in the comics which also possess the same powers as shown in the trailer.
In the recent Marvel Avengers game which featured Kamala, she had her original powers in the game just like in the comics. And fans liked it and they were eager to see how Marvel will adapt it to the live-action series. But it is confirmed they won’t see the comic book version of Kamala.
But some fans are saying that since Marvel will introduce Fantastic 4, they don’t want two superheroes with similar powers. Because Reed Richard’s powers are also the same as Ms. Marvel in the comics. And the mystery bracelet will have a connection with the alien race ‘Kree’ which is also something marvel is going to explore in the sequel of Captain Marvel.
This is not the first time where Marvel is traveling in a different direction from their source. They had altered the origin stories of heroes which had mixed results. Let’s hope this will end up as a good decision for Ms. Marvel.
