Did November Bring Along A Total Lack Of Options For Hindi Viewers?

Films and TV shows are often cited as a means of rejuvenation from the monotony of everyday life, by many. This is true to the extent that it goes beyond all sorts of boundaries: physical, societal, as well as cultural. Which is probably why a lack of options to choose from in terms of films and shows, hits so hard.

Not only are theatres experiencing a dry spell with respect to new options to screen, OTT platforms are also on the verge of the same. Take for example the case of titles releasing in the month of November.

Except for the initial, big box-office clash between ‘Singham Again’ and ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’, there are virtually no hyped releases slated for the remainder of the month. Additionally, there are barely any Hindi-language titles debuting on OTT in the near future, except for ‘Freedom at Midnight’, ‘Half Love Half Arranged: Season 2’, ‘Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein: Season 2’, and ‘Sikandar ka Muqaddar’.

While a few Hindi projects are lined up for theatrical release, the lack of anticipation they have induced within audiences, will fall short. Which is to say, Hindi audiences are barely left with any viewing choices for this month. Moreover, if the projects lined up for theatrical releases also fail to excite audiences, it will be a bad month for a large proportion of Hindi viewers, overall.
