It’s been a few days now that ’Panchayat’ season three premiered on Amazon Prime Video and many of you might have already seen it by now. Even if you haven’t, don’t worry this isn’t going to be a spoiler for you, just some food for thought.
‘Panchayat’ season three was one of the most anticipated show this year and to be honest this time it failed to bring out the freshness and wholesomeness the series is known for. There was more melodrama than the sweet and heartwarming humour.
The show delved more into the political rivalry angle this season than the small and wierd yet entertaining issues that Phulera panchayat solved in previous seasons. The spooky tree incident, the wedding fiasco, the story of the stolen computer, camera installations, missing goat, slipper exchange matter and much more were really fun to watch in season one and two.
But this time the story started on many different fronts like the tussle between the MLA and Pradhan, Abhishek and Rinki’s love track, Bhushan and his issues and more but all of them were left open ended.
All this makes you feel wanting for more from the show by the end of it but not in a very good way. ‘Panchayat’ is known for its hearty moments, rawness, wholesomeness and simplicity and while it wasn’t completely missing, this season definitely lacked on certain fronts. Hoping the makers bring a fantastic fourth instalment that everyone is eagerly waiting for and we get to enjoy ‘Panchayat’ just as we did when it first came.
