Did Prime Video Feature An Unqualified Professional In Documentary?

Documentaries are not an easy peasy game. They don’t require too much lighting or retakes but they certainly need infinite times more sharpness. They need to be precise and accurate in their content as they can’t possibly show something that is not correct in official terms.

Well, the latest documentary on Prime Video is Dancing On The Grave. If you happen to watch only the first 18 minutes of the first episode, you would be introduced to Dr Prerna Kohli. She is introduced to the audience as a Clinical Psychologist who would share her take on the events that took place back in the 1990s.

However, what makes someone a Clinical Psychologist?

According to Mental Health Care Act 2017, a clinical psychologist needs to take a license from The Rehabilitation Council of India.

The organization issues licenses to professionals to practice independently. To get the license, one has to pursue the course of M.Phil (Clinical Psychology).

However, according to the website of Dr. Prerna Kohli, she is a Ph.D. in Psychology. No offense to her as she may have all the required knowledge that a Clinical Psychologist needs to have.

However, it is a mistake on the side of Prime Video to introduce Dr. Kohli as someone whom she is not qualified for (technically).

It is high time the platform looks at the series and makes the required change. Because precision is important in Documentaries.
