Did Snyder Tease His Future Project After Rebel Moon?

Filmmaker Zack Snyder is gifting fans one of the most exciting lines of films. His association with Netflix is pretty thrilling for fans, but that’s not the end of the path. During a recent interview, Snyder possibly teased his future project.

“Rebel Moon” will grace the Netflix platform on the 22nd, with the second part following on April 19th. Although it will have a week-long ‘short’ theatrical run, it will undoubtedly boost Netflix’s stats, considering the strong Snyder fanbase.

The project under the limelight started as a sequel to “300” and “300: Rise of an Empire,” one of his last projects before bidding WB ‘goodbye.’ However, after completion, it carried a different flavor than any previous “300” film.

Comes, Blood and Ashes, which he wrote during his work with Netflix under “Army Of The Dead,” focuses on the relationship between Alexander the Great and his second-in-command, Haphaestion—a Greek epic with a sense of gay romanticism.

The studio initially rejected Zack Snyder’s project, likely due to strained relations post his exit from “Justice League.” However, Snyder revealed to a reputed media outlet that he and his wife, Deborah Snyder, now have the rights back and can explore other opportunities for the project, signaling a potential revival.

Zack Snyder, having regained rights to the project, expresses uncertainty about the market reception for a potentially provocative film described as “incredibly homoerotic, super violent, super sexual.”

Meanwhile, his attempt to adapt the controversial Howard Chaykin comic, “Black Kiss,” into a TV series faced rejection due to its eccentricity. Despite ambitious efforts, the unique and unconventional nature of the project deterred potential interest.

Netflix’s Scott Stuber expresses interest in licensing Zack Snyder’s DC movies for the platform, emphasizing a desire to provide fans with more of Snyder’s work. Currently, Snyder is focused on Netflix projects, including sequels and spinoffs for “Army of the Dead” and the second “Rebel Moon” film.

Besides these, he will also be releasing an R-rated director’s cut of “Rebel Moon,” indeed mastering the craft. But after all these things are over, when shall we expect “Blood and Ashes”? That remains a question.
