Kartik Aaryan is finally back to doing a film with Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. The new Dharma Productions movie with Kartik Aaryan was announced this morning on social media, a day ahead of the actor’s birthday, which is tomorrow. The new Kartik Aaryan – Dharma Productions movie has Ekta Kapoor’s Balaji Motion Pictures as co-producers.
The as-yet-untitled film will be directed by Sandeep Modi, who’s earlier directed Disney Plus Hotstar shows ‘The Night Manager’ and ‘Aarya’ Season 1. Interestingly, the producers have locked a release date for their new film with Kartik Aaryan. The film will hit theatres on 15th August, 2025, which hints that the plot is based on a topic of national interest.
Even Kartik Aaryan’s social media post announcing his new movie with Dharma gives us ample hint of the above. Kartik Aaryan wrote on X – “An unforgettable chapter of our glorious Indian history full of valour and sacrifice is now going to be part of my life a subject close to my heart… super proud and excited to embark on a new journey with the extremely talented @sandeep_modi and the powerhouse #karanjohar and @EktaaRKapoor ”
There’s no further information on the rest of the cast or crew for the untitled Kartik Aaryan – Dharma – Balaji movie. We’ll just have to wait for further updates from the production team for more information on the new movie.
Kartik Aaryan returning to the Dharma Productions fold is a matter of surprise for trade pundits. The in-vogue actor and Dharma head honcho Karan Johar had an exasperating fallout years ago, back when Kartik Aaryan was one of the leads for Dharma Productions’ Dostana reboot. Karan Johar was also hinted to have pulled strings to orchestrate Kartik Aaryan’s parting from a couple of other prestigious projects.
The sordid saga seems to be a thing of the past, though. Kartik Aaryan is one of the few film stars to have given the beleaguered Hindi film industry a couple of resounding hits in Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and SatyaPrem Ki Katha. He’s one of the hottest propositions in Bollywood today. Obviously, Karan Johar’s famous opportunistic tendencies have kicked into gear, and he’s decided that burying the hatchet with Kartik Aaryan makes good sense for him and his company.
So folks, Kartik Aaryan has signed the bottom line with Dharma Productions, and all’s well with the Hindi film world!
