Dialogue writer, actor, director LB Sriram, who’s no longer active with his film career, is immensely cherishing the freedom he’s getting with the digital space. For the uninitiated, LB Sriram, in the recent past, has been actively making short films on YouTube borrowing stories written by popular Telugu writers across several generations.
The multi-faceted personality has rejected several film offers where he’s been stereotyped to emotional roles off late. Explaining why he chose to make short films at an age where he’s still at a position to command roles in the film industry, he told in a talk show, “It was previously interesting to do a variety of comedy roles in between the emotional ones. No one is offering me humour these days and I am bored doing those emotional roles where I have to die by the end of the film.”
The man, now in his 60s, wants to spend the last phase of his active life making content that he has a liking to. “I am acting in the films, choosing the stories, locations. I intend to bridge the gap between ideologies of several generations. It’s important to hold back to our past, while also embracing modernity, this is the message I intend to convey,” he added.
