Trailer Talk: Dil Bechara, Sushant Singh Rajput’s Last Film Will Move All Of Us To Tears

By Binged Bureau - Jul 06, 2020 @ 04:07 pm

Dil-Bechara-TrailerDear departed Sushant Singh Rajput’s last film Dil Bechara will be the most bittersweet experience ever – while it will be the last time we get to watch Sushant Singh’s formidable talent unfurl on screen, there will hardly be anyone who will not cry while watching the poignant and sad film.

Dil Bechara is an adaptation of John Green’s moving novel, ‘The Fault In Our Stars’. It is the story of a boy and girl, both suffering from cancer, who find loving support in each other. Sushant plays a cheerful dude in the movie, who is full of infectious enthusiasm, despite the fact that he’s a cancer survivor and has lost a leg to the disease.

The most moving parts of the trailer, coz of the recent sad events, are where we see his pride at his fighter status – he proclaims it to the world in as many words, “I am a fighter!” It is touching beyond words.

He meets Sanjana Sanghi at a cancer support get-together. She is depressed due to her cancer – the classic ‘why me’ syndrome. The narrative deals with how he helps her find peace with the disease, along with hope and the spirit to survive.

Saif Ali Khan is missing from the trailer. He has a cameo appearance in Dil Bechara. It remains to be seen what role he will play in the movie. If the movie is close to the original Hollywood version, then he’ll most probably play the mean-spirited writer, who realises the value of life and reaching out to other human beings, through the poignant circumstances of the two cancer patients. The trailer doesn’t show even a hint of his role, though.

The trailer is a difficult watch – we’re still grieving over the loss of a talented actor and an incredible human being. The movie itself will be even more difficult to sit through – and will make us ponder several times on the unfairness of it all. It is one movie where a handy box of tissues will do us good.

Dil Bechara stars Sushant Singh Rajput, Saif Ali Khan, Sanjana Sanghi, Milind Gunaji, Javed Jaffrey, Sahil Vaid and Durgesh Kumar in pivotal roles. It is directed by Mukesh Chhabra, written by Shashank Khaitan and
Suprotim Sengupta. The soulful music of the movie is the work of A. R. Rahman, which is a joy into itself.

Dil Bechara drops on Disney Plus Hotstar VIP on 24th July.
