Best selling author Harinder Sikka’s ‘Calling Sehmat’ was adapted into Alia Bhatt starrer ‘Raazi’ that proved to be a blockbuster and now his another book is set to be made into a film.
Based on a true story, the book titled ‘Vichhoda- In The Shadow of Longing’ will be adapted into a feature film by Dinesh Vijan’s Maddock Films. The historical fiction book tells an untold story of strength, sacrifice and resilience.
‘Vichhoda- In The Shadow of Longing’ is set in the post riots scenario of 1947 and follows Bibi Amrit Kaur’s life that is literally torn apart these riots. Now living in a different country with a new identity, she lives a peaceful life with her family and children, only to be shattered once again.
This time it becomes more painful as she keeps up her hopes of meeting her children and getting her life back. Not letting bitterness take over, Bibi becomes a beacon of hope and courage for all.
