Krish’s Web Production Based on This Show?

It’s well known that Manikarnika director Krish Jagarlamudi will produce a show for veteran producer Allu Aravind’s OTT platform that’s set for a launch soon. While Krish won’t be directing this, a few sources have confirmed us that the Telugu digital show is an unofficial adaptation of an American sitcom.

Reportedly, the show is an Indian version of Cheers, a slice-of-life comedy that was on air for over 11 years on NBC and had completed 275 episodes across eleven seasons. Cheers is set in the backdrop of a bar in Boston, a hangout spot for people from various walks of life to talk, drink and make friends.

This urban-centric show has a premise of good potential to work in an Indian context, especially across the metropolis. Several leading and upcoming Telugu actors will be teaming up for the show. The series will be made on a budget of Rs 3 crores, from what we hear.
