Nithin’s Maestro has skipped its theatrical release and will land directly on Disney + Hotstar on September 17th. The movie is the official remake of Bollywood Blockbuster, Maestro. In an interview, Binged.com has asked director Merlapaka Gandhi a question.
“Andhadhun is a very famous film on OTT for obvious reasons. People have extensively watched it during the Lockdown. If you are remaking the film for a larger set of audiences i.e., those with no access to OTT, it is good. But with direct-to-OTT, you are coming back to the same set of audience who watched the original movie already. Are you worried?,” Binged.com asked.
“Frankly speaking, the issue is definitely there. We made the film for a theater watch. Now, the masses especially in the rural side will be missing it. The audience who watched the film is also going to enjoy it, I hope. While retaining the soul, we made a few changes as well. The love track has been changed and an emotional sequence has been added in the climax. The casting will also add freshness to the story, I believe,” the director says.
Maestro has Nabha Natesh playing the role of Radhika Apte while Tamannah will reprise the role of Tabu.
