Discovery has announced that would be entering the streaming world with its new app, Discovery Plus. It has already planned several exclusives on its platform besides providing the enormous library-content for its users instantly.
The good news here is the pricing, which also reflects the views of the Issac John, the business head of Discovery (South-Asia). The subscription fees are rupees 99 per month or rupees 299, for the entire year. The point emphasized here by Issac is that he doesn’t want Discovery to be seen as a niche product for a limited set of audience.
The target of Discovery Plus is pan-India and across tier-I and tier-II cities in India. To this effect, Discovery Plus is going to premiere, Corona Virus: The Silent Killer along with its launch. It will be giving the viewers a closer look at the deadly virus originated from China.
Apart from, CoronaVirus: The Silent Killer, there will be three other originals in a short period which focus on the epidemic. The idea behind it is to showcase the events that define the world and humanity.
With the affordable pricing and content that is mostly unscripted and belongs to a wide variety of categories, Discovery Plus is hoping to create a unique space for itself in the booming digital market of India.
