The Disney+ streaming service, also known as Disney+ Hotstar in India, has added 5 Marvel One-Shots from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. These 3 to 15 minutes short movies from Marvel bestow deep backstories for the characters or the notable events that took place in the past MCU movies. They debuted back in 2011 with The Consultant and ended in 2014 with All Hail the King. Since then, the fans have not yet received a one-shot from Kevin Feige and his team of Marvel executives.
Hayley Atwell’s Agent Carter one-shot was available for some time on Disney+. However, it was abruptly removed from the streaming service sometime later. Now, viewers can enjoy all five one-shots from Marvel. They are:
1. The Consultant – Set after the events of Iron Man 2.
2. A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Thor’s Hammer – Set after the events of Thor.
3. Item 47 – Set after the events of The Avengers.
4. Agent Carter – Set after the events of Captain America: The First Avenger.
5. All Hail the King – Set after the events of Iron Man 3.
All the above-mentioned Marvel one-shots have featured talents like Hayley Atwell, Ben Kingsley, Lizzy Caplan, Clark Gregg, and many more. The first phase of MCU functioned more like an introduction for all the beloved members of the original six Avengers. But things got interesting with the launch of Phase Two. The sophomore phase brought some amazing and innovative ideas from the creators to the table. So, the big question is this: Will we see a Marvel one-shot in future?
Here’s what Feige said about the possibility of one-shots in his interview with /Film back in 2015: “We talk about it a lot. We’re a relatively small team. We’re comfortable doing three movies a year, so it’s just about finding the time and the place. But we have a backlog of ideas.”
Feige and his team are already busy in the production works of several upcoming prominent projects. But we are sure that the fans will not mind one-shots to get re-introduced to the MCU.
