Disney Captures The OTT Rights Of Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour

The concept of concert films is nothing new, and though she isn’t the pioneer of the idea, she definitely revolutionized the concept. Taylor Swift managed to pull off a box-office hit, and that too independently, quite a feat for a singer. And now, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour will be streaming on OTT really soon.

In terms of just the box office, she managed to generate $261M globally, and from the tour itself, generated more than $4B in sales and advertising. Not just the highest listened-to Spotify artist by a big margin, Swift was also able to [produce the highest-grossing concert film, one more feather on the crown.

Even stars like Beyoncé followed Swift, though it wasn’t accompanied by such success.

Now, as the concert film gained global traction, it became a matter of curiosity about where and when it might stream. But now, we do have a solid update.

Swift’s The Eras Tour will now be streaming on Disney+, and that too from March 15 on regular OTT. This will also have the same things as the theatrical version but will have some additional moments as well.

The OTT version will have five more songs (including Cardigan) which previously weren’t featured in the theatrical and digital version, quite a good tactic by Swift and Disney.

The digital version previously was distributed by Universal Pictures and that too with three additional songs, a major difference from its theatrical version.

And as you can expect, the global release of Taylor Swift: The Eras on Disney+ suggests that Indian fans will enjoy the vibe on Hotstar. It’s quite a big deal for the platform, especially during such a fumbling time for the studio.
