According to some reports, MCU’s Echo Disney+ series was supposed to arrive on the streaming platform at the end of 2023. However, the studio’s recent earnings call tells a different story, hinting at a possible delay in the Alaqua Cox starrer’s release.
One of the latest posts from One Take News, a prominent entertainment platform, on Twitter (X) reveals that ‘Echo’ is not present on Disney’s slate of 2023 releases, highlighting that the series’ release has been delayed by the company.
Disney’s release strategy for Echo faced strong criticisms from the fans when the company announced that it would be the first-ever MCU series to release all its episodes at once. We are used to watching episodes of MCU shows on a weekly basis. Many believe that this change shows Disney’s lack of faith in the series.
Echo will take place after the events of Hawkeye (2021). It will revolve around Maya Lopez (Alaqua Cox), who decides to drop a visit to her hometown in Oklahoma to reconnect with her Native American roots. She plans to separate herself from the world of crime and Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio).
Apart from exploring Lopez’s life in more detail, Echo will also lay the foundation of Charlie Cox’s Daredevil: Born Again.
