A few months back, we had made our readers aware that Yami Gautam had wrapped up the filming schedule for her upcoming film ‘A Thursday’. And earlier today, the stunning actress had shared an intriguing teaser for the movie. The film’s teaser starts off with the background voice of playschool students singing a popular kids’ rhyme in a seemingly empty classroom.
And immediately thereafter, we get to see Yami Gautam singing along but there is more to it than meets the eye as the sequence is soon followed by a gunshot sound. Going by the teaser, it seems like Yami Gautam isn’t here to kid around in the film as her character apparently has a greyish shade to it. It was also revealed that the full trailer for ‘A Thursday’ will arrive tomorrow, and interestingly, on a Thursday. The film will release on the Disney+ Hotstar OTT platform.
‘A Thursday’ has been directed by ‘Blank’ writer and director Behzad Khambata and it’s his second directorial venture. The story ostensibly revolves around the character of (The Mastermind) Naina Jaiswal (played by Yami Gautam), who will be seen as a playschool teacher who takes sixteen children as hostages on a Thursday (that’s why the title). Whether the film has any connection with Neeraj Pandey’s thriller ‘A Wednesday’ is not yet confirmed.
Besides Yami Gautam, the film also features Neha Dhupia, Maya Sarao, Atul Kulkarni, and Dimple Kapadia. Neha Dhupia will be essaying the role of a cop ACP Catherine Alvarez in the movie.
Yami Gautam, who has some fine films under her belt including ‘Vicky Donor’, ‘Badlapur’, ‘Kaabil’, ‘Uri’, ‘Bala’, and she was also seen in Saif Ali Khan starrer ‘Bhoot Police’. She will next be seen in ‘Dasvi’ which features Abhishek Bachchan and Nimrat Kaur, another thriller ‘Lost’ co-starring Rahul Khanna and Pankaj Kapur, and ‘OMG 2’ along with Akshay Kumar and Pankaj Tripathi.
