Disney+ Hotstar’s New Show Is ‘Ghar Waapsi’ For Dice Media Too!

Digital content company Dice Media has scored a blockbuster hit in ‘Ghar Waapsi’, its new show for Disney Plus Hotstar. And its success is well-deserved to, for ‘Ghar Waapsi’ is a series worth watching for lovers of relatable, feel-good, worthwhile content.

But the most heartwarming thing about ‘Ghar Waapsi‘ is that it is a ‘ghar waapsi’ of sorts for its creators Dice Media too. Read on to know how.

Followers of digital entertainment in India will know that Dice Media are one of the pioneers of OTT and digital entertainment in India, alongside the country’s other OTT content pioneers, The Viral Fever. Dice Media’s ‘Little Things’ was one of the first and most successful OTT shows in the country. The feather in their cap was when Little Things was picked up by streaming giant Netflix for streaming on their platform.

However, after the success of Little Things, Dice Media has been floundering in OTT wilderness. None of its shows post Little Things got picked up by mainstream OTT biggies. Dice Media was compelled to release all their series on their own YouTube channel. Even the relatively successful ‘What The Folks’ finale season wasn’t acquired by any streaming platform, and had to make do with a release on the Dice Media YouTube channel.

The Viral Fever, in the meantime, forged ahead with successes such as Panchayat, Gullak, Kota Factory, Saas Bahu, Achaar Pvt Ltd, each of which were acquired by the biggies Prime Video, SonyLIV, Netflix, ZEE5 respectively.

With the overdue success of its new show ‘Ghar Waapsi’, after several years in the wilderness, Dice Media has finally come home – ‘Ghar Waapsi’ – to its rightful place — streaming on a big OTT platform (Disney Plus Hotstar), entertaining viewers with pure, unadulterated, feel-good content.
