Disney+ Hotstar has been bringing riveting tales to its audiences with web-series like Criminal Justice, Hostages, thriller action series Special Ops and Sushmita Sen starrer Aarya along with others. It has also recently dived into the world of bringing Tamil languages web-series to the forefront. In the Tamil slate, Kajal’s “Live Telecast” was amongst the first to release.
With fresher and better concepts, Hotstar has also decided to bring some light hearted Hindi language web-series for the viewers. “Those Pricey Thakur Girls” is one of the series that is underway at the moment to arrive on Hotstar, along with another web-series “Nachaniya”. Though the news has been kept very hush hush, it looks like the makers of the web-series are going all out for the casts involved in it.
Veteran actress Padmini Kolhapure, is the latest star to join the cast of the series. Besides her, another veteran actress Padma Dhillon is already on board for the series. Along with these two brilliant actresses, Chandrachur Singh, who was last seen in Aarya, along with Sushmita Sen has also joined the cast. Raj Babbar, Gauahar Khan, Tej Sapru, Shataf Figar and Anjali Anand are roped in to play major roles in the web-series.
Along with them two new and young actresses Medha Shankar and Saher Bammba that have recently made their Bollywood debuts have now joined the cast. Also, Akshay Oberoi has been casted as the male lead of the series. All the actors have already started the shoot for their respective roles.
The story of the web-series is based on Anuja Chauhan’s hit book, “Those Pricey Thakur Girls”. The story follows the journey of Laxmi Narayan Thakur, his wife Mamta and their 5 beloved daughters. The series is being produced by Smruti Shinde’s SOBO Films.
As of now, there have been no updates as to when the series will release. The makers as well as the streaming service have not revealed any crucial information regarding the series.
