Disney+ is coming up with an amazing show that takes you inside the lives of ballerinas, ballerinos and gives you a perspective of what goes into making Ballet so beautiful. “On Pointé” is the upcoming show releasing on 18th December, which will take people inside the lives of people and that are part of School of American Ballet (SAB) and how their lives revolve around the competitive world of ballet.
On Pointé is a 6 episode or 6-part docuseries specially focused on the extraordinary institute called the School of American Ballet, which has been considered as the dream school for people that loves ballets or does ballets. They take a look into the season when SAB is producing the Nutcracker show, like every year and where many upcoming and young ballerinas and ballerinos are chosen through tough auditions and given a chance to be a part of SAB.
The show covers the journey of older students that are already a part of the show and going through their dream phase of becoming a professional in the field of Ballet. Like many institutions that groom such artists, everyone aims to become a part of something once they become a professional; same is the case with the students of SAB. Almost everyone in SAB, dreams to be a part of the New York City Ballet (NYCB) an institution known to be the home of American professional ballet.
The show gives us an outlook on what goes on inside making such a graceful dance form and in grooming the players of this game, the world calls Ballet. The rigorous training, the breaking down, the difficulties, the body issues and everything one struggles while being able to be a part of this dream institution.
