Disney Plus Drops Release Date For New KDrama ‘Blood Free’

Disney Plus has unveiled the first look poster and release date for its new Korean series, titled ‘Blood Free’. The dystopian series is set in the world of genetically engineered meat and meat products. ‘Blood Free’ premieres on Disney Plus on 10th April, 2024. The series will stream on Disney Plus Hotstar in India on the same date.

Korean series ‘Blood Free’ follows the goings-on in a company ‘BF’, the dominant player in the genetically engineered cultured meat market. The endeavours of BF have helped end the phenomenon of millions of years of humans eating animal meat.

Insiders at the company, and outsiders too, doubt whether the path taken by the BF CEO is the right one.

Lee Mu-Saeng has appeared in numerous popular Korean titles, including the acclaimed film Broker, along with series like Prison Playbook, Something In The Rain, Gyeongseong Creature, The Glory, among others.

Besides Ju Ji-Hoon, Han Hyo-Joo and Lee Mu-Saeng, the cast of Blood Free comprises of Lee Hee-Joon (Badland Hunters, Vincenzo, A Killer Paradox); Kim Sang-Ho (Kingdom, Sweet Home, My Name); Jeon Seok-Ho (Kingdom, Moving, Squid Game Season 2); and Park Ji-Yeon (Hospital Playlist, Bloody Heart).

Blood Free is written by Lee Soo-yeon, the writer of ‘Stranger’. The series is directed by Park Cheol-Hwan. Blood Free premieres on Disney Plus Hotstar on 10th April, 2024.
