Disney Plus Hotstar Starts Streaming The Iconic Indian Chacha Chowdhary Cartoons

Chacha Chaudhary an iconic and legendary Indian comic character. Pran Kumar Sharma created it. Initially, it was published in a Hindi magazine Lotpot. Later it moved to Diamond Comics, where it continues to run even now.

When there is such an iconic character, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that many alternative adaptions would be attempted. It isn’t any different with Chacha Chaudhary. An animation cartoon series and live adaption show were made out of it.

It is the cartoon series whose rights have now been acquired by Disney Plus Hotstar. The Chacha Chaudhary cartoons are streaming on the platform from April 29th.

Disney Plus Hotstar already consists of a vast library of content for kids. It is all thanks to Disney. The idea behind the latest acquisition seems to be to not miss out on the desi content as well. A lot of kids in India would be more inclined to watch homegrown character rather than something international, for starters. It is this segment that is the target here.

The Chacha Chaudhary cartoons comprise of 52 episodes. With this deal, Disney Plus Hotstar is now leading the kid’s section by a margin compared to its competitors.
