Disney+ Sequel On 1988 Cult Classic ‘Willow’: Amer Chadha-Patel Joins Cast

Looks like the cast of TV series ‘Willow‘ based on the 1988 ‘classic’ adventure film is finally shaping up. Earlier today, it’s been confirmed that Amer Chadha-Patel of Doom: Annihilation and Army of One fame has joined the cast of the upcoming Disney+ content.

Those who are not familiar with the 1988 cult adventure film Willow, it revolves around Willow Ufgood, portrayed by Warwick Davis, who is a dwarf and an aspiring sorcerer who leads a group in a quest to protect an infant from the evil queen Bavmorda. The TV series however, will take place years after the events of the original film, introducing all-new characters with Warwick Davis once again reprising the role of Willow Ufgood.

As per the reports, British actor Amer Chadha-Patel will be featuring opposite Ellie Bamber, Ruby Cruz and Erin Kellyman and will portray Boorman, a thief who joins a new quest with Willow in exchange for getting out of prison.

Jonathan Entwistle will direct and executive produce the pilot of Willow. Jonathan is known for directing Netflix’s The End of the F***ing World and I Am Not Okay With This. He reportedly couldn’t hide his excitement and said, “To be able to play within the world so painstakingly crafted by Ron (Howard) back in ’88 is a dream come true for me.”

Apart from Jonathan Entwistle, Ron Howard, Lucasfilm’s Kathleen Kennedy and Michelle Rejwan will also be donning the hat’s executive producers whereas Julia Cooperman will be a producer.

As Amer Chadha-Patel joins the cast, it’s evident that ‘Willow’ is heading towards possessing a diverse cast along with a vibrant storyline which was originally a brain-child of legendary filmmaker George Lucas.
