Disney+ Spiderwick Chronicles: Christian Slater To Play Mulgarath

The upcoming live-action Disney+ series based on ‘The Spiderwick Chronicles’ has added some important performers to its cast. First, let’s talk about Christian Slater. The Dr Death and Mr Robot fame will play the show’s primary antagonist, Dr Dorian Brauer/Mulgarath. Additionally, the duo of actors Noah Cottrell and Lyon Daniels will portray the roles of twins Simon and Jared.

One of the executive producers of the MCU series She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, Kat Coiro, will helm the first two episodes of the forthcoming Spiderwick series. On the other hand, Aron Eli Coleite (Locke & Key) is serving as the showrunner. Disney greenlighted the live-action adaptation of the show in February this year.

The Spiderwick Chronicles show takes its inspiration from the novel series of the same name, written by Holly Black and Tony DiTerlizzi. The story revolves around the Grace twins, Simon and Jared, who move into the Spiderwick Estate with their sister Mallory and mother Helen. Soon, everything changes after the brotherly duo discover a world of fairies in that region.

The film adaptation came out in 2008 and opened to highly positive reviews. Critics highly praised the performance of Freddie Highmore. However, the movie’s average box office performance forced Nickelodeon to shelve future sequels.

The Spiderwick Chronicles Disney+ series is expected to hit the streaming service in 2023. Stay tuned for more updates.
