Disney CEO Bob Iger has made several statements about the future of Disney. One extremely prominent among them is the slowdown of Marvel and Star Wars content.
We have not seen any Star Wars films since 2019 in theaters. And we are overwhelmed by too much Marvel.
So putting Marvel and Star Wars on the same platter is an injustice to Star Wars. If you remember the statement by Tarantino then yes, Disney is not being fair to Star Wars.
Regardless, Bob Iger has confirmed that they would allow other streaming platforms to host Disney content.
Do you know that Avatar: The Way Of Water is streaming not only on Disney+ but also on HBO’s Max because Disney allowed them to do so?
This can be a massive step in the way streaming business is done as such steps are not known to be practiced widely.
He said:
“It’s a possibility. I won’t rule it out. Licensing had been part of a collection of models that formed the traditional TV business, and holding back content for their own platform in the early days of streaming was the right move.”
Even Warner Bros has started licensing their content to Netflix and other platforms. Let’s see how all these things result into.
