Disney+ X-Men ‘97 Series May Premiere On This Date

According to a new report, one of the most anticipated Disney+ shows, X-Men ‘97, may premiere in early 2024.

Serving as the official revival of X-Men: The Animated Series, which ran from 1992 to 1997, X-Men ‘97 is a creation of Beau DeMayo. Marvel Studios Animation has produced the show.

The latest rumour regarding X-Men ‘97’s release window has emerged from a recent tweet of Scarlet Witch Updates, hailing January 3, 2024, as the upcoming show’s release date. Check out the tweet below!

Not much has been revealed by makers regarding the storyline of X-Men ‘97. Although, we do know that the duo of Cyclops (Scott Summers) and Storm (Ororo Munroe) will lead Professor X’s team of mutants this time against Mister Sinister, the show’s primary antagonist.

The events of X-Men ‘97 will take place some months after the original animated series. In the show’s final episode, Charles Xavier bids farewell to his team after getting crippled by an energy disruptor used by Henry Peter Gyrich. His team members try to save him, but all efforts go in vain. Out of nowhere, Lilandra arrives at the scene and offers Xavier a cure, which forces the latter to go with her to the Shi’Ar Empire in search of his cure. Upon learning about Xavier’s poor health, Magneto buries his plan of taking over the world with the help of his mutant army out of respect for his greatest adversary and only friend in the world. Fans will see Magneto trying to steal the leadership of X-Men in the absence of Xavier in the upcoming X-Men instalment. Will Professor X return? Only time will tell us.

According to Cal Dodd, who will voice Wolverine in X-Men ‘97, the production of Season 2 has already commenced. Another rumour has hinted that the show may get at least four seasons. You can watch all the X-Men movies on Disney+ Hotstar. Stay tuned for more updates.
