Disney’s Hocus Pocus 2 Brings The Original Witch Trio Back In Action!

If one talks about witch movies and Disney, one cannot forget to mention Hocus Pocus. The movie released in 1993 is one of Disney’s classics and even today the movie stands out as a masterpiece for everyone and especially the ones from the 90s.

The movie went on to become even more iconic because of the three witches in it. They are still today one of the most renowned witches in popular culture and basing on their popularity Disney is all set to bring it back. It has been announced now that a sequel to the 1993’s “Hocus Pocus” is all set to begin its production by this year’s fall. The company has decided for the release of the movie by next year.

Adding to all this, it has been announced that the original cast will be making a comeback. Now, when we speak of the original cast, we strictly speak of the iconic sister witches. So that will mean Sarah Jessica Parker, Bette Midler and Kathy Najimy will be back in all their glory once again and all over again.

The upcoming movie has already been planned out perfectly and the shoot is supposed to start in Salem itself, where the original story is based. The director of the 1993 classic Adam Shankman won’t be directing the movie but will oversee the project as an executive producer, along with Ralph Winter. Lynn Harris will produce the film along with Steven Haft. Anne Fletcher will be helming the show instead of him, who has earlier directed movies like Channing Tatum’s “Step Up”, “27 Dresses”, “The Proposal” among others.

The story of the movie has also been panned out and it won’t exactly be taking over from the original Hocus Pocus. Infact, the story will be kind of a brand new one as a group of three young women accidently bring back the Sanderson witch sisters into the modern times. Now, it will be upto them to stop these three witches from wreaking havoc in the modern day world once again. This already seems like a complete laughter riot to all of us.

The makers have been planning a sequel since 2019 but it has always been postponed as they had wanted only the original actors to make a comeback, so that it can be grand. The schedules of all the three amazing actresses couldn’t line up until now and finally all three of them are onboard in bringing this classic back. The makers have also emphasised that this will be a movie that the newer generation, that couldn’t witness the ‘93’s Hocus Pocus, can connect to and understand given what the world is today.

As Disney announced the movie, Bette Midler took to her social media platform and announced the witches’ return, just like how she should do it. Take a look at it here:
