Disney’s Percy Jackson Series Is Better Than The Films, Here’s How

The highly anticipated Disney+ series ‘Percy Jackson and the Olympians’ is nearly one and a half months away from its release on the streaming platform. Fans of Rick Riordan’s novel series are desperately waiting for the show, with many of them believing that it has already surpassed the Logan Lerman movies in terms of quality and storyline.

Lerman’s Percy Jackson flicks, The Lightning Thief and Sea of Monsters, faced criticisms for making major changes in terms of storyline. The primary criticism was the makers’ decision to modify the core aspects of the characters’ personalities and their bond with one another. On top of that, some of the characters’ stories were rushed in the films.

Fans are expecting the upcoming Disney+ Percy Jackson series to perform better than the films. Here’s how it can happen.

Rick Riordan’s involvement

Rick Riordan’s involvement in the production of the Percy Jackson series looks significant. He was not involved in the film series. His involvement with the TV series gives him a perfect chance to undo all the wrongs that occurred in the films. After all, he is the author of Percy Jackson novels.

More mythical characters

The first season will have six episodes. This scenario gives Rick Riordan and his team the opportunity to introduce those characters from Greek mythology that did not appear in the movie series. Adding more characters will certainly expand the Percy Jackson universe.

Camp Half-Blood is getting the respect it deserves

Camp Half-Blood is the place where the Greek demigods receive their training. It is a training facility situated on the north shore of Long Island. The duo of god Dionysus and Chiron, a centaur, oversee the facility. Percy also receives his training here. Sadly, critics butchered Camp Half-Blood’s representation in the films. Hopefully, we will get a more energetic and riveting version of the popular demigod training facility in the forthcoming series.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians will arrive on Disney+ Hotstar on December 20. Stay tuned for more updates.
