Are you guys still not over the emotional ending of the second season of The Mandalorian? Well… we are still reeling from it too. The Mandalorian has been an epic emotional ride and the second season was even better than the first. But here is some good news – The Book of Boba Fett has been confirmed as a spin-off from the Mandalorian and is expected to come out in December next year.
At the end of the recent season finale of The Mandalorian, we get a small end credit scene where Boba Fett and Fennec Shand go to Tatooine and take over Jabba’s Palace. The scene then ends with a title card which reads The Book of Boba Fett. Now, because of how the series ended, many fans thought that this would be the continuation series with The Mandalorian now ending. Don’t get me wrong, this ending would have been perfect if The Mandalorian was actually going to end. The Mandalorian and the child started their journey together when we met them and leaving them as they move on from each other would be an emotional yet an understandable ending.
But have no fear, it has been confirmed that season 3 of The Mandalorian is on the way – it will just be late. The Book of Boba Fett is going into production first and once that web series goes into post production, then the third season of The Mandalorian will go into pre-production. The Book of Boba Fett will be produced by Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni and Robert Rodriguez.
From the limited information we have, we know that The Book of Boba Fett will be set during the same time as The Mandalorian. This could also be a possible set up for the third season of The Mandalorian. Hopefully we will have more to go on as the production company started dropping teasers and the works. Both seasons of The Mandalorian are currently streaming on Disney+ Hotstar.
