Disney’s ‘Wish’ OTT Release Date And Platform In India Revealed
Disney’s animated film ‘Wish’ released in theatres back in November 2023. The fantasy drama film proved to be a savior of sorts for Disney’s animated slate. ‘Wish’ came on the heels of Disney’s previous animated movie ‘Strange World’, which had proved to be a massive flop, causing losses worth millions of dollars for Disney. ‘Wish’, on the other hand, did good business at the box office overall.
Now, six months after its theatrical release, ‘Wish’ will finally premiere on OTT worldwide, including in India. Animated film ‘Wish’ OTT release date and platform in India is slated to be 3rd April on Disney Plus Hotstar. The film will release on the same date globally on Disney Plus.
‘Wish’ is a fantasy drama that follows a young 17-year-old girl who wishes upon the stars to help her combat the evil ruler of their land. Her wish is granted when she meets a living, magic star that has fallen from the sky, and together they face up to evil king, Magnifico.
Ariana DeBose voices Asha in ‘Wish’, while Chris Pine plays evil king Magnifico. Alan Tudyk, Angelique Cabral, Victor Garber, Natasha Rothwell, Jennifer Kumiyama, Harvey Guillén, Evan Peters, Ramy Youssef, and Jon Rudnitsky form the rest of the voice cast.
Wish is directed by Chris Buck and Fawn Veerasunthorn, and written by Jennifer Lee and Allison Moore, based on a story conceived by Lee, Buck, Veerasunthorn, and Moore.
The official synopsis of ‘Wish’ reads – “Young Asha makes a wish so powerful that it’s answered by a cosmic force, a little ball of boundless energy called Star. With Star’s help, Asha must save her kingdom from King Magnifico and prove that when the will of one courageous human connects with the magic of the stars, wondrous things can happen”.
